My loverly sweet bird as the devil in him today. He's been so naughty for no reason. He's bit me and drawn blood. He's never bit me before. He also very calmly walk up my friends arm and took a chunk out of her nose. On both accession we both where very calm so he didn't get a reaction. I've just let him out again because I've been out for a couple of hours and he's still very fiery. Not nasty but naughty and biting. He's having a off day or may be he's growing up and testing what he can get away with.

I really appreciate stories like this so I know what to expect but it also scares me! I can't imagine my sweet boy biting me. I'm not looking forward to that!!

Yup, testing the waters.......this is a stage and you are doing very well by not reacting. Great job!! It's hard NOT to react when bitten by surprise!

I can't speak for our friends "over there", but on this side of the pond there's been a bit of excitement the past few days. I think some birds may react to the holidays. Doesn't it make sense that when there's a change in energy, decor, excitement, routine, etc. that our birds will act differently, too?

They have their good days and their bad days just like we do and Val might have hit on another reason since Thanksgiving has just past and Christmas is coming and they sense the changes going on, just don't take the bites personally.
