Egg Laying

Hello-

I'm concerned about my African Grey, ChaChi. She has laid 6 eggs in the last 5 weeks. Anybody know if this is normal? She's alone in her cage. Should I take her to the Vet?

Six eggs is ok. Have you let her keep any? If you let her keep some it well help stop the laying also cut down the hours of light she gets.

My quaker breeders lay 6 to 8 a clutch with no issues.

Make sure she has extra calcium.

If none of this works then you may have to take her to the vet there are a couple different shots out there you bird can get to stop the laying but only as a last measure.

We let her keep one of them for a few days. I think she liked having it with her. Thank You so much and I will take your advice. Hopefully soon I'll post a picture of her. Thanks Again.
