Connie
Hey Tracy it was only $1625, and I was able to pay in installments. This breeder was very good to deal with!

judygram
Well in that case, I hope a rehomed B&G macaw comes into her possession soon so you and your hubby can have one of your very own. If it is meant to be it will happen Tracy.
lovemyGreys
Thank you Judy, i will wait for the right bird that will fit into my routine & hopefully my flock of course if a B&G comes along then he/she will not be housed with the greys

Connie
Good luck with that Tracy. Again, it's too bad you don't live here, we had a member of our parrot club (who is very sick)is/was rehoming something like 15 Macaws. I think he was charging a minimal fee, but nothing like sale prices. I thought about an older bird, but I rehomed a grey already and it is a lot of work. Darla is doing much better, but I wanted to be able to train and teach this one right from the get go. Actually, probably the real reason is a Macaws beak is just TOO BIG and scarry to be bitten from a rehomed bird when you don't know their habits and attitudes. Besides, I get to spend all this time boasting about my new baby!
judygram
And we are loving every moment of it, I just love watching the baby grow right before your eyes. Yes I would be intimidated by their large beaks, and you bring up a good point about rehoming a large bird like that with baggage that you don't know about. Connie
Thanks Benny! :side: Since I have 2 CAG's named Spanky and Darla, this B&G will most likely be called Buckwheat! I think it gets the DNA sex test this week. {Nature-00020095}

Connie
Well, it's official.. I have a bouncing baby girl! I'm not sure how the little rascals theme is going to work with another girl, and Miss Crabtree, Jane, and Mary were the only other members, and I'm not real fussy on those names. I haven't ruled out miss buckwheat, but I'm not sure. Also leaning towards Goldie. Maybe some of you can give me some ideas of names that are out of the ordinary yet easy to say. If I use your name, I'll give you Karma!

kiwibarb12
OK- NOW I can truly say she is cute. Newly hatched birds are kind of like newly born human babies - only beautiful to their parents. Now that she has some feathers she is too cute! Congratulations on your beautiful baby!!
