kathykrik06
Hi my name is Kathy I currently own a half moon conure that is about 10 months old. I am dying to own an African grey so I am here to learn all I can about this bird before getting one. I almost bought one of craigslist but the person was so called across seas it turned out to be a scam how sad people are that down right mean so anyway thank you for letting me join. judygram
Hello Kathy and welcome to our family, we are so glad you want to be owned by a grey and you have come to the right place to learn all about them. Please read thru our many threads for lots of useful and helpful information, ask questions and we will help you in any way we can but most of all do the research to find out for sure whether a grey is a good fit for you as we hate to see any of these amazing creatures end up in rehomes. I think you will be better off to look for a breeder of greys and get yourself a just weaned baby as an adult grey from a previous home will be coming with some baggage that may make it more difficult to settle into a new home and of course the internet is full of scams as you have seen. I would love to see a picture of your conure if you would share one or two with us, we have an other birds room where you could post it.
KimKim
Hi, you can check parrot rescues. Their re homing fee is usually under 500. Just google it and you should find a few in Ca.
