Guest
For those of you who make homemade toys, what drill do you use? If you could buy a new drill, would you get something else or are you happy with your current drill? I went to Home Depot a few days ago and was a bit overwhelmed. Obviously no one wants to spend a ton of money but at the same time, I don't want to simply buy the least expensive if paying more will give me better features. So what's your favorite drill? Thanks in advance!
KimKim
My husband will only use Dewalt. They are the yellow ones, and a bit pricey.
Guest
Thanks, KimKim! Will you please ask him which model he thinks would be best for a beginner driller who will only need the drill for toy-making? Thanks so much!
KimKim
Here is his drill. He uses it for everything, big and small. I believe he got it from Home Depot. He was not sure about any other models, sorry.
KimKim
oh he did say that any Dewalt should be fine, the one he has is kind of heavy, well I think so at least. But it is really nice and super fast! And it has a pretty blue light that shines on whatever your drilling when you pull the trigger:)
Guest
::::sigh::::: I was telling a friend I wanted to buy a drill and he said I can't use a drill without a work bench and a vice to hold the object so it doesn't go flying around and take someone's eye out. Is this true? Do I need a vice and a work bench? Is there any other way to use a drill without having to have a whole dang workshop?? Thanks in advance. KimKim
Well it can be true, but sometimes my husband just stacks pieces of wood (two piles) then puts the object on top of it to drill a hole. When he made the hole in the phone books he just rested them on a wood shelf we have outside and hung the corner off that the hole was going to go and just drilled...
