Guest
Hi, All! What toy-making tools would you recommend for a beginner? Right now I hack away with kitchen knives and nail files and pliers. The job gets done but sometimes it takes longer and the result isn't as good as it would have been if I had had the proper tools! I am wondering what those of you who have been making your toys for a while now would recommend as far as a basic set of tools for toy-making. For example, if I were to recommend what a beginner to cooking should probably purchase, I'd tell them to buy the three basic pans of a gooooood quality (and to stay away from cheapies, since it will hinder them getting a good result), and to buy a spatula, a couple of wooden spoons, a stirring spoon, a set of mixing bowls, a good chef's knife, a good paring knife, a cutting board, and a set of pot-holders. I have a ton of other items in my own kitchen, but the above list would be a good start for someone just beginning to cook, yanno? So what basic items would you recommend to someone just starting out making her own toys? Thank you so much!
JJsHoney
These are the tools we have and most do a good job at hacking away at some wood for Rene to chew Power drill/screwdriver with both metal and wood strength drill bits (I am trying to drill through metal and it's proving to be tricky) a skill saw sand paper (for a few of the homemade perches) I also cut up some dog leashes from the dollar store so I found some bolt cutters and they do wonderful! Needle Nose pliers do the same thing lol but I love to be dramatic I will keep adding as I think of something else I used to make some toys, most of my toys fail with Rene but he is very particular with his toys
