lovethatgrey
Lychees are a SAFE fruit to provide to OUR parrots! Just got off the phone with the Exotic clinic. Do not offer the outer shell or the PIT. Apparently there's a grey who comes in with his lychees all of the time.. I love Lychee at its freshest and when in season. Today I went to a street sale in Montreal's Chinatown, then we went for Dim Sum. It was awesome. I purchased about 5lbs of fresh Lychee and my favourite type of Mango, the Ataulfo Mango. Emma and Sachi LOVE this mango as well. [video=youtube;WOLW-OY_U9Y]
judygram
I have never seen a lychee before and don't know whether or not the stores here carry them but I am gonna find out, they look interesting, what do they taste like?
lovethatgrey
Judy, Lychee fruit is like nothing else you'll ever taste. Very sweet, smooth and lucious. I am always very impressed with how well the outer shell protects the precious lychee fruit.
Birdnut
I, too, have never tried lychee. I don't remember seeing it in the store. I'll have to watch for it and try it.
judygram
I looked today when I was in my regular grocery store but didn't see any, will try looking for it at some speciality stores for now I really want to know what it tastes like.
lovethatgrey
Perhaps in an Asian grocery store, or a health food store like Whole foods?
judygram
We don't have Whole Foods here where I live but there might be an Asian market around, I will have to check it out.
Azzie
Lychees have a lovely taste, sweet and very delicate. The only downside for me is that I think it feels like having an eyeball in your mouth, but I still eat them lol.
