Toe crunching

In the past few days Oscar has been picking up his feet and crunching them together. I have no idea if this is a problem, but he doesn't seem to be hurt, he can still perch fine and it is not always the same one he picks up and crunches together....any ideas?

This is normal. All birds do this.

They often shift from foot to foot, and you'll often feel that one foot is warmer than the other when you pick them up after a rest period. They are settled and content (you'll hear him crunching his beak next)!

Oh i hate the beak crunch... sounds like its going to break off lol

Knowing that the beak grinding crunchy sound means your bird is relaxed and content may help it sound better to your ears. For me that is a comforting sound-all is right in their world.

Ah yes, as others have said, it is a normal relaxed, all is well behavior.

Perfect images of a Grey doing his normal balancing act. I do always wonder they prefer to stand on one foot. But you can bet they are comfortable when they are doing this. It's a pleasent sign.

Have you seen a horse pick his foot up when they are comfortable? It is the same kinda deal with greys. Just know that when they are in the leg raised position they are happy and content. Also, if they are grinding their beak too, then they are EXTRA happy and content!

Yep, I typically get a beak grinding when Issac is ready to nap.
