What happened to his other tail feathers? Also what are the stress marks, I've heard them mentioned somewhere else but how do they get them etc?

Thats our Spock, he is one of the favorites on the forum and his one red tail feather tells it all doesn't it, hope he soon has a tail full of bright red feathers with no stress marks, thanks for sharing the pics with us.

They indicate during the time the bird was molting there was either nutritional imbalance or high stress. Spock has been a very sick baby. We wrote threads titled "Spock updates"etc if you would like to read them..Jayd

Aww Spock you've been playing rough haven't you? LOL Ecko's tail used to look like that but he went through a molt recently and now he has a pretty red tail again. Don't worry yours will come back soon too.

to me that is one perfect feather after all he has survived, when he eventually molts it you must have it framed!

Sad to say, this is a new feather, the 1st came or was plucked out. He does have some stubs coming in, I'll try to get a photo's. Thanks
