Reed difusers.

I have been asking about trying to find safe ways to freshen up the house.

I have tried lots of natural methods but just want to ask if anyone has used reed difusers around their birds which use essential oils.

Hi Caroline - I use them. They were actually recommended by my vet when I had my cockatiel, because I too like to freshen up the house, but didn't want to "spray". They weren't so widely available and were expensive when I first started using them - but now they are widely available, and much cheaper. Watch out though - some are REALLY strong and stink!!

Thats great news! I have seen some on ebay and just wasnt quite sure about them!

I dont use anything and really wanted to get the house smelling nice again!

Just stick with the ones that are made from essential oils. They are soooo popular now that, just like perfumes, cheaper chemical-based ones are coming out. Not only do the cheap ones gives peoplelike me who are sensitive to fumes headaches, they can't be good for our birdies.
