Jayd
A pet Congo African Grey Parrot:o The history of African Grey parrots kept as pets dates back over 4,000 years. Some Egyptian hieroglyphics clearly depict pet parrots[verification needed]. The ancient Greeks also valued parrots as pets. This custom was later adopted by wealthy Roman families who often kept parrots in ornate cages. King Henry VIII of England also had an African Grey parrot. Portuguese sailors kept them as companions on their long sea voyages. Thanks Jayd

Thanks Jayd So it's HIS fault - he let them "invade" our territory here in the UK!! Okay then Henry - I admit - I am really grateful for this one thing you did for us in history (read the rest and you'll agree, other than liking wedding cake he didn't do much more - apart from eat - he's famous for that too!!!). I'm loving this "snippet" history Jay - keep em coming!!!
