Tricky
The other day I was at a friend's apartment and as we left, we noticed this poor little guy had somehow fallen out of the nest and fell down into her stairwell... A baby starling, he couldn't fly and there was no way we could get him back into his nest... We wound up taking him to a friend of her's who knew how to handle such situations, so at least we know he will survive and be taken care of. =] He was so adorable, I had to post a picture... Luvparrots
Great thing you did for the little guy! Perhaps some pictures when your friend releases him if you get a chance.
she
aw so cute. Yes please let us all know how the little darling starling does and when and if he is released. Is it possible to release a hand reared starling back to the wild? I cant see it being easy.
Tricky
I would imagine that he raises them and releases them into the wild, although I didn't ask him about his plans. I applied to work at the pet store that the person who took him in owns, so hopeefullyyyy I will get hired and then I'll be able to hear all about the process. =] I don't know the guy personally, though, except for meeting him briefly when we gave him the bird. I'll ask my friend who knows him better to keep me updated, though.
