Hi,

 

we use harrison and we are very happy with it.

 

Our vet told us about it. If your parrot does not want to eat it at the beginning - buy the peppered ones.

Our Vikki is one year old and she is in great health.

 

We give her every 2 months nuts (unhealty stuff) and she starts to become aggressive and bites. She does not do that when we give her harrisions.

 

I also feed her apples, green beans, corn from time to time.

Hi Nicole, thanks for letting us know about vikki.

If you feed her nuts & see a change in her behaviour then why not stop feeding them ?

Make sure aswell as her harrisons she has daily access to fruit & veg

I'm glad to see this. I've been looking into Harrisons for when my little one comes home. I've only found a couple of suppliers in Australia but after seeing the recommendations I'm happy to pay the freight costs and get it. Just wondering which size of the high potency would be the better one for a just weaned young grey (CAG). I was going to go with the coarse.

I would start with the fine pellets first. The coarse will be too hard for them in the beginning. Some greys never like the coarse. It's okay to feed them the fine foe as ling as they like.

Our vet only had the coarse so we got it. Makena doesn't seem to have a problem with them, in fact I think he likes the challenge! We do have it mixed in with another brand that has smaller pieces. He goes back and forth between the 2. We probably would have got the fine if they had it. Maybe get both and mix them together... see what he picks out!
