Xtreme575 Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 I had posted about Loretta the yellow-naped Amazon who was "Abbotsford's Oldest Pet" with documented vet records of 65 years. Loretta resided at a local feed store for years, but she has now passed away. Here is a link to the article on her passing, I had also included a link that gave information about Loretta, she was certainly a famous bird in my area... She is already very missed. http://www.theprovince.com/Loretta+gone+bell+still+ringing/2992941/story.html Ryan
Luvparrots Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 (edited) What a lovely little Amazon. Now you can take wing Loretta, fly high toward your final forever home with all our prayers. Edited May 7, 2010 by luvparrots
pearllyn Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Aah how sad. Bless her. The little bit about her bell got me a bit choked. Rest in Peace Loretta. x
judygram Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 I'mso sorry to hear that Loretta is gone but she is not forgotten and that little bell will ring in her remembrance, she was a beautiful thing.

JillyBeanz Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 What a gorgeous bird - she looks almost "fluffy" rather than feathered. She obviously had a good, long life - and was enjoyed by the people in the store. Thanks for this Ryan.
Xtreme575 Posted May 8, 2010 Author Posted May 8, 2010 Unfortunately I hadn't had an opportunity to meet her myself. It was one of those "I must do" that I didn't have the opportunity to do in time. Yes, she was in my area, I have been following her in the paper for some time as she was quite a local celebrity and lead me to have a better awareness of local avian services. In that sense, she created a legacy that Paco, my AG is now able to enjoy.
