hbalkhi
Hello My name is Hattan. I'm from Saudi Arabia. I joined this site after what I saw of the good experience that I didn't see before... I have a grey called "Aoodi", 1 year and few months old ( not sure how many month exactly ), he does so wonderful sounds, make me touch him ( sometimes ), eat from my hand and other things. But unfortunately, he still bites and screams, move away when i try to touch him and I think his previous owner didn't learn him "step up" command. Anyways, Since I'm new to this whole thing, I'll be asking a lot ( hope you excuse me ). Well ... Don't know if I'm missing anything .... I'm looking forward to learn from you all. Umm... almost forgot I'm sorry about my English. Thank you.
pearllyn
Hello Hattan and welcome to the forum. Do not be afraid to ask any questions at all - no-one will mind and we will all do our best to give you the advice you need. It can be quite hard looking after a grey for the first few months when you are not used to it, but we will all help as best we can. Aoodi is still quite young and you should be able to teach him commands like "step up" without too much trouble. Patience is the key with any bird - do not try to force him to step up, but rather let him come to you when he is happy to, and that way he will see that you are someone he can trust. We look forward to hearing more from you and Aoodi. Lyn & ALfie x

JillyBeanz
Umm... almost forgot I'm sorry about my English. I certainly wouldn't worry about that - there's many round here who can't get it right and English is our first language!!! (I'm also sure your English is 100% better than our Arabic)!!! Welcome to you Hattan and to Aoodi ~ you ask as many questions as you want. We are all here to help and guide each other and gain the best knowledge to give our greys the best lives possible. As Lyn has said, it's early days - you seem to be doing fine, taking your time and showing Aoodi that he can trust you. Hopefully, in time you will be able to enjoy a friendly experience with him. I look forward to hearing more about you both ~ and perhaps you can bring some of that Saudi sunshine into our lives!!
