pearllyn
After a couple of interesting stories coming forward in another recent post, I thought I'd share this and invite everyone to share any similar tales they may have. I got my dog from a rescue centre when she was 12 weeks old. One day when she was around 8 months old, she and I were cuddled up on the couch when I heard the cat meaowing to get in. Megan (my dog) was sitting beside me and I had another cat on my knee, (so obviously I couldn't get up and disturb her) so I said to Megan "go and let the cat in", in the same sort of way that I often ask her to go and put the kettle on! She took a look at me, paused for maybe a few seconds, then got up off the couch and went and opened the kitchen door and let the cat in. She was only a puppy really and had never opened the door before. I put this down to some form of telepathy, because while I don't neccesarily think she understood the words, she somehow tapped into the thoughts. I'd love to hear any other telepathy type stories if anyone has any. Megan xx
judygram
I don't have any stories like that but I don't doubt that Megan knew to associate the cat's meow with wanting in and went and did it for you, how special that must have made you feel, bet she got a doggie treat for that. katana600
Lyn, that is just precious and I don't doubt she knew what she was doing. When you get her to put the kettle on, I am coming over to have tea.

B) She sure did Judy - once the cat on my knee had removed her self so I could get up of course!! Honestly Dee, I think she could manage to put the kettle on just fine - it would be filling it that causes her the problem!
JillyBeanz
What a lovely photo of Megan in the snow! As you know, I don't have any other pets, but my mam is able to send Suzy (her four year old Weimaraner) to sleep by looking at her in a certain way! It's hard to describe, but she gets up on the sofa next to my mam and my mam looks at her wide eyed and then keeps tipping her head side to side, it's hilarious to watch - her eyes start drooping (the dog's not my mam's) and she falls asleep! I've tried it on Harvey and I'll let you imagine yourselves the outcome of that one

Luvparrots
Great pet tales. I believe our pets are sensitive to us and know us all very well. Telepathy yes I believe it. I don't have any true stories like these but I do have one I will never forget. When my kids were under six, yes all three of them my youngest went out into the country road we lived on and our dog, Muffin, ran to the top of the little hill in the road in front of her and jumped up and down to make a car driving down the road stop for this "crazy" little dog. The driver had to stop and let me know what a great dog my kids had to protect them. (before anyone yells at me, my baby is 43 years old now, and this was a long, long, long time ago)
pearllyn
Janet I think it's amazing when our dogs take on the role of protector to us. Even my little chihuahua get's protective of me if someone who is "unapproved" comes too close! What a precious memory to have of Muffin after all these years!
