jessdecutie18
You know, I am going through some challenges with Yoshi getting used to the Aviator harness, but there is one tip in the video that I have been finding most useful, and not just for the harness. Thought I'd share. If there is a particular thing your bird doesn't like you to do to it, the aviator suggests doing a countdown "3...2...1" and then stop the activity. Then your bird will realize after a while that 'hey, I don't like this but I know it will be over soon'. I have actually found this works very well for Yoshi! She doesn't like me lifting her wing up very high, just enough for scratches, and pulls away if I lift them higher to look at her wing or something. Well, in just one day, by counting down to her several times and making a point to stop at one and give her a sunflower seed, she now lets me open her wings out completely, as long as I let go at 'One'. Just thought I'd share

JillyBeanz
I tell you what Jess, I am willing to try ANYTHING to get Harvey back in his harness. He was absolutely fabulous in it last summer - he would let me just put it on him and away we went, but I've been trying for the last four weeks to get it on him and no way is he going to let me. It's such a shame, as he was hardly in the house last summer, but doesn't look like he's going anywhere this year. Thanks for that tip, karma to you - whether it works or not!!! I'm willing to try anything!!!
