nevjoe
Hi! I have been looking at a lot of photos of your birds, and it seems a lot of them have yellow, or gold eyes. Is that from age or just the bird itself. Hemingway is 13 weeks old, that's why I asked about the age. THANKS, Joe
Number6
Their eyes will gradually change from black, to grey, to grey with a yellow outer band, to gold. Their eyes are usually gold at 2yrs of age.
judygram
Well put, Michael. They eyes do start out at black but end up as yellow, good way to tell if you have a young bird.
Guest Lidia
Hi Joe, The eyes start out almost black, gradually go grey and eventually, at about a year, go hay-coloured. So the eyes can only tell you age up to a point.
