Joolesgreyuk
I have decided to have a new interior door (which seperates the birdy area to the hallway and ultimately the outside door) fitted as the old one is looking it's age and I have a curtain on it to hide it's ugliness. I was sick of the sight of the curtain and it was making the hallway dark. As an added safety feature to stop my son from opening the interior door whilst leaving the outside door open I have this time bought a lock to fit on the new one - the new door will now be locked when the birds are out to stop a potential bid for freedom ;-)
