jessdecutie18 Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Hey Yoshi has a blood feather on her tail real loose and out of place. She keeps reaching back and bending it, I think she is eventually going to pull it out... I'm supposed to leave that to her right? Thanks, just getting some advice
Joolesgreyuk Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Hi Jess, I don't know the answer to your question but if it were me I think I'd be inclined to leave it to Yoshi. If you are unsure can I suggest you pm Dave007.
Xtreme575 Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Until you hear from Dave, Jay or Dan, I would stay close at hand to make sure there isn't any "trouble" until you hear from an expert on what to do. I know that Dan once said let the bird deal with their feathers as they are the experts, so I'd abide by that unless Yoshi breaks the feather and it starts to bleed. You may have to take further measures then... I'd have clean needle-nose plyers or tweezers along with corn-starch handy just in case. But please try to leave it all alone until we hear from someone else, just keep your head about you! Good luck!
judygram Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 You are right to leave it alone for now, Yoshi will take care of it herself and if it bleeds then you will have to see about removing it but have the cornstarch or flour handy in case it does start bleeding.
danmcq Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Yep, the others all gave great advice. Leave it be for now. As Judy said, have flour or corn starch on standby, just in case.
Jayd Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 The Forum is the best...These people you can count on...Sit back and keep a open eye... Jay. Karma for your concern...
Luvparrots Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Great advice from others. Yoshi will eventually remove the feather. You're a great parrot so just relax and be patient and Yoshi will do her thing.

Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2010/02/27 23:29
