Hi Everybody,

Ive just seen a photo with a parrot nibbling on a cinnamon stick (The wood like roll).

Is that healthy? Anyone tried with their grey?

I have found several of these in the bags I've found of store mix. I also found them used in several recipes on line. Dixie doesn't care for them but your grey may. Enjoy!

Just make certain that it has not been treated with a pesticide, my Grey will chew them up once in a while. It does make the food bin smell really good. Star Anise is also popular with some parrots.

Oh great, We will try them imeditely. I will make sure to wash them first just in case, bu I do not think they use pesticides on those, as they are ment for human consumption.

Anyway will let you know how it goes

CINNAMON-- Exerts mild anti-fungal effect on candida and other types of yeast, and aspergillus. It also has a mild anti-bacterial effect against strep and staph bacteria.

Aniseed-- has antiseptic properties and is also a digestive aid. Chewing the seed is an ancient breath freshener;)

We give all our fids these goodies. Cinnamon we use as a powder and sprinkle on there soft food, or a stick as a treat...

Star Anise, it's enjoyable watching them eat it...Serve both as is, out of the bag...
