New here - gathering information

Hi all! My name is Christine and I am not a bird owner (yet?). I would really love to have an African Grey but I want to make sure it will be a good match for my family, not just get one because they are cute or because they talk. So I'm here gathering information. I've read a lot of articles online so far, but I don't think anything compares to talking with the actual bird owners.

 

A little about me - I have been married almost 15 years, have 2 kids (10 & 8), 17 nieces and nephews, whom I adore... I LOVE kids! My full time job is raising and homeschooling my kids and I am also a doula.

 

We are an animal-loving family - currently we have a boxer, a bearded dragon, and a snake. My husband is probably getting a tarantula soon :ohmy: and my daughter (who is the owner of the snake) is lobbying for another snake! We also love to camp and we spend several weekends a year camping. During these times, we have a house-sitter who takes care of all the animals for us.

 

So anyway, I look forward to talking with all of you in hopes that you can help me make my decision and also learn all the stuff I need to know if and before I bring the baby home. Thanks!

Hi Christine and welcome to our family. Well done for researching whether a grey is the correct pet for you ~ there is tons of information housed in millions of threads for you to trawl through to help you see whether a grey is for you and your family.

Hi Loving Grey ~ clearly you sell cages for a living - but how about starting your own thread and telling us whether you have a parrot/thinking about getting a parrot and a little more about yourself!
