difference in pellets

Hey all!

I have recently switched my dogs and cats to a much better dog food and cat food. And now I'm focusing on my birds (yea, they should have been first!)

So, I'm doing my research but need help! there is sooo much stuff out there.

So far, I've looked at...

http://www.harrisonsbirdfoods.com/products/hpc.html

http://www.organicbirdfood.com/organic-bird-food/Foundation-Formula-Pellets/c22/p9/Foundation-Formula/product_info.html

With those two, I've looked at the ingredients and they are so different. Then with Harrison's, I've noticed that the first ingredient in sunflower seeds. I thought they were bad in fat and weren't supposed to give them to birds. But then, the first ingredient with foundation formula is corn...which, corn is so bad for dogs so, it's in my mind that corn = BAD!

ugh. so what are your thoughts?

Sorry if this has been asked before :)

:) Harrison's is one of the best food's available, not a single one of our fids will eat it.:( Your bird needs certain nutrients that can come from many different foods, pellets, seeds, veggies, chicken turkey and fish, eggs, pasta, grains and legumes etc, and each of these foods supply some of these needs in various amounts, so, it's not "what one food is best,

but what combination?". Take a look at "Bird Food" to see what others feed there's...Sunflower seeds in moderation is great for our birds, the same with a little corn, it's fun to watch our baby's eat a slice of lightly cooked corn on the cob!!!:P

thanks Jay!

I am (which is stupid) but having a hard time wrapping my head around the best combo for my birds. Everyone gives so much variety to their fids which is just awesome but i stress about it...lol

i try to give fresh veggies/fruits but my birds refuse to eat it.... Well, i guess they don't refuse, they just eat a little and then throw the rest out. Then Jasper will only eat veggies, he will refuse the fruit.

I ordered some of the harrisons, i want to see if they like that...hopefully they do...:side:

My Vree who is fussy about eating pellets seems to like the Harrison's that my vet gave us a sample of better then the Zupreem I had been getting. So I ordered some and they got here today!! He was a happy camper when I gave some to him :)

Kookie likes variety, so I offer him on daily basis fresh fruits and veggis. He lkes the okra, orange, corn on the cob, apple, guava, banana, chilli, capsicom, and sometimes pasta. Also he loves almonds and peanuts.

I also give him dates (actually replace the seed with an almond to make it more interesting. Also pellets are always there for him. I use Harisons high potency formula in addition to Harisons power treats. He also gets some seeds daily.

I guess the trick is to offer variety, I wouldnt stick to pellets only, you need fresh stff to keep him healthy and happy.
