One more question... We live in Colorado in a dry climate. I read somewhere that red palm oil will help his skin and feathers if you mix it with his food. Is this correct? If so, how much do I use and how often? Is red palm oil the right one to use?

Thanks!

No the eggs you feed your grey do not have to be organic, any eggs from the store will be fine.

Yes the red palm oil does help the skin and feathers and you can purchase it from www.swansonvitamins.com

I use about 1/4 teaspoon and you don't have to use it every day, some mix it in some cooked food like oatmeal or drizzle it over other foods.

Post edited by: judygram, at: 2010/02/11 13:04

Jay and Judy are spot on.

My Grey loves his scrambled eggs and doesn't noticed I snuck in a 1/4 teaspoon of Red Palm Oil as well. :-)

Another fact some may not know..... The yolk is also a good source of vitamin D for calcium absorption.
