Jingles Posted February 11, 2010 Share Posted February 11, 2010 Ok, a quick question for you all! We've had Jasper for at least 5 months now. I have never, ever felt a pin feather coming in. hardly seen any old feathers on the ground... Is this normal? He's starting to lose the down feathers... Dave007 Posted February 11, 2010 Share Posted February 11, 2010 All birds will lose their feathers at any age. Dead and scaly feathers are what causes molting. As long as those old feathers are being replaced, there's no problem. If you don't feel the shafts, that's also no problem. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
