gbdb_kcb
Hi all, Booty Goo's Mom here. So I have been looking at the archives (which rock!) and I am a bit confused, a few responses state that the Ionize is dangerous for our babies, and most others say that they are safe. I am thinking I will go with the majority vote, but you know what they say about assuming something and also it is way better to be safe than sorry. So this is the Purifier we got for our house, Actually we purchased 3 for each floor because we moved into an old house that hasnt been lived in for 5 years!!! We purchased the Holmes-HEPA-Type Tower Air Purifier. Is this ok?! Sorry for being so neurotic. ps. it is on sale in the store.
kittykittykitty
I don't know about your particular air purifier but I used an ionizer for a long time. If it is a HEPA model I would think it would be safe.
Xtreme575
I have read that the ionizing filters are less favourable as the hepa-filters too, but I don't remember why... I'm using a hepa-filter and love it. I like that I can just clean the filter under water and can't believe how much powder there is each week!! crossfit
from what I understand, and have experienced, the ion machine types will mostly make the dust drop out of the air. The hepa filters the air. When used together you get the best bet. What the ion machines do is help the positive and negative electron charges in the air molecules to have a higher ratio of negative charges (which is better for us and our pets).
