judygram
If your grey is pulling his feathers out then he is plucking. Why don't you give us some more information so we may be able to help you with your problem.
kittykittykitty
Sammy, the CAG we parrot sat many years ago, pulled out all of his tail feathers when they were long enough for him to grab but none of the others. We didn't know what to do but now I would spray him with aloe vera and give him lots more toys. We did give him lots of attention. He should have had a much larger cage, also. Greywings
This sounds like an over preening behavior, he may need more foraging or shredder type toys available to give him something else to chew on. Can you give us a little back ground information such as diet, type of cage and if you have the heat on currently? If it is only occurring on the tail and you have a young bird he may be damaging those feathers when playing causing him to over groom that area. Have you looked closely at the area and determined there is no viable problem on the skin?
