Finally, maybe changing his favorite...

Lately I've noticed that Jacques isn't really letting my mom scratch his head anymore. He still hasn't bitten her, (I'm not hoping that he will,) but I think he finally may have decided that she might not be his absolute favorite, and that maybe he likes me too.

I know you dont want mom bit, but I am sure you would be very happy to be the favorite if even for only a little bit

Hopefully Jacques is just becoming more socialized.

 

Just because he lets someone else hold, pet or scratch him, does not mean he has diminished love or appreciation for his Mom or Dad :-) which or whomever he chooses as that role.

 

I'm rooting for you though Tricky, since you want it so badly :woohoo:

I second Dan's comments, I hope Jacques is bonding with you, I know that would make you very happy. And of course you wouldn't want your Mom to get bit, we know you better than that, I hope. :)

Sometimes that just happens. At around 2 years of age my Que slowly stopped letting me touch her head.

Some birds don't like to be petted or cuddled.

It's odd for Jacques though. Usually he is begging her to be cuddled. I don't think he'll ever not like her, I just hope that he's becoming more accepting of me. ^^

Sounds like it, Tricky, so be grateful for what you have, and maybe he is asserting his independence more too so the cuddling may not be what he wants now.
