HeatherStrella
I've had the summer off so I've been able to spend all day with Harrison, pretty much everyday. I go back to work in 3 and a half weeks... Should I slowly start getting her back on my work schedule? The first couple weeks of my vacation, she'd come out first thing in the morning for a little while but then wanted to be in her cage until around 3...which is what she'd do when I worked. Well, now she's out all day and she's loving it. I'm really going to miss her when I go back to work...it SUCKS!! I'm more worried how she's going to handle it...any ideas what to do between now and August 20?
judygram
If it was me I would gradually get her back into the schedule you have when you work, every day more and more time in the cage to prepare her for that day you return to work. Maybe get her some new toys or at least new to her toys to help keep her busy for that transition period. I know you have been loving it and I would too but you don't want her to stress out when you are all of a sudden not there during the day anymore. I work all year so I don't have that problem but I would love it if I could find something where I could stay at home and be with her more during the day. I have taken her with me to work before and she seems to enjoy that and me too. :)
HeatherStrella
Thanks Judy. I wish I could take her to work. I'm afraid the students would drive her crazy...I have a few grey hairs with their names on them. LOL. I will do as you suggested...thanks!! judygram
Heather, I have the luxury of working for a very small company and I bring her into the office for the day, everyone loves her and she gets some extra attention. I recommend it for anyone who has a similar situation. I don't know what age children you teach but on another forum there was a teacher who took her grey to class for part of the teaching process and for the interaction with the children, don't remember what age group they were, but maybe I could find out. HeatherStrella
Well, I'm not a teacher...I'm an interpreter...so that would mean I'm in a teacher's room all day. Knowing my school, I seriously doubt they'd let me bring Harrison. They're pretty strict. But, thanks anyway.
