judygram
The vet visit is a good idea especially if she has not been in a while and then you will find out if she is healthy or lacking in anything. I leave a radio on during the day when I am gone to work, some of the other members do leave a tv on, something to provide some background noise and or entertainment. They do need as big a cage as you can provide, they need plenty of room to be able to stretch their wings and flap without touching the sides of the cage. She may be a little irritated with you since you are no longer providing "sexual favors" but that too shall pass but you did the right thing. As for the feathers you have found she may be molting. We have some excellent threads that deal with avian lighting just do a search but here is one that Dan made his own setup that is nice. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/limitstart/20/african-grey/47809-lighting.html
