Usually a warm rain here on the Gulf Coast of Texas but our birds think rain is scary and they need to be rescued. Spray mist or a shower is acceptable, silly birds. Pookie swears that CAG's should never get wet.

GreyWings - Didn't you guys get snow in the gulf coast a few days ago? I'll bet that kind of weather shift did throw them into a tail spin. :-)

We received about 3" in our backyard and I volunteer a the local bird Sanctuary on weekends and was finding the water bowls and bottles frozen. they thawed quickly of course after we got out more bowls and bottled water for them all.

I have a grey who loves water. I have not taken her out in the rain, Washington State's rain is not warm. When I spray her she turns round and round and flaps her wings so I know Ana Grey would love a warm Texas rain!

In the summer my two have been in the aviary when it has rained and really enjoyed it.The aviary has a solid roof so they have gone right to the front to catch a shower.

Alfie tried a natural shower once, when she was rejecting all other types of bath! It went down just as well as any other wet encounter! I think if she were exposed to it regularly and gently - like in an outdoor aviary where she had a choice - she may come to like it!
