pearllyn Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Hay Folks, Just a quick note to draw a line under Alfies health issues over the summer. On yesterdays check up the vet was more than happy with her and doesn't need to see her again until next years health check. Weight fine, feathers fine, everything fine!! And as for her little sickness scare on monday that had me panicking and paranoid - most probably just a stuck walnut!! (Thanks to those of you who jumped in to calm me down!) Two other things we found out about Alfie while we were there, 1) She has a wingspan of around 32 inches. 2) she is afraid of cockatiels! Hope you and yours are all well. Lyn & Alfie xx
JillyBeanz Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 What fantastic news Lyn - forget the summer and solider on (and tell the bugger to chew her food)!!! I have some comments, following on from yours: 1) Wow - lovely length. 2) WHAT A WUSS!!!!! Mind you, I was afraid of my cockatiel - he had a great bite to him!!!!
judygram Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Thats great news Lyn, thanks for letting us knowhat Alfie is a wuss when it comes to cockatiels, what a hoot!!
danmcq Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 GreYt news on Alfie!! In regards the Cockatiel - She's just trying to sucker it in for a good beaking. 32" wingspan, are you sure she is not a baby condor?
pearllyn Posted December 3, 2009 Author Posted December 3, 2009 You're both right! She is a total wuss!! At least she is a healthy wuss tho!!
JillyBeanz Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Ha Ha Dan - I just read it as I picture it - I pictured 32 inches tip to tip - not just one wing!!!! See, that's the women's practical mind in me
Joolesgreyuk Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Thanks Lyn for keeping us up-to-date with Alfie's health check. Good to hear she is well with no probs. B)
pearllyn Posted December 3, 2009 Author Posted December 3, 2009 Hmm - I thought I meant tip to tip too! Dan, does wingspan mean just one?
she Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Thats great news Lyn.I dont blame Alfie for being afraid of cockatiels,I would sooner get bitten by Charlie than Cracker, boy does he hurt.
CuteMandaPanda Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Yay for a clean bill of health! Glad to hear the good news.
pearllyn Posted December 3, 2009 Author Posted December 3, 2009 danmcq wrote: Yes.... I was just messing with your head. Tut! Consider it done!! Man am I thick!!! Sheila - Alfie says thanks for the support! She knew they were a force to be reckoned with, despite their size!!
casper Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Great news! Its lovely when our birds have the thumbs up at the vets.
