Bathing

I am sorry I am not sure if this is in the right place. I just would like to know some of the general rules for bathing. Mikey will be 4 months old when he comes home. At that age is it okay to start bringing him into the shower on a perch or should I start with spray bathing? Either way what kind of temperature should the water be? Whenever he is ready to come in the shower with me is it okay that he is in there while I use shampoo, soap, etc or is this dangerous for him to smell? Thank you for your help.

Yes that is fine to start at that age. You will just have to test different methods to see what he likes in terms of bathing. Some like to go in the shower others hate it. Spraying is also really good and a lot of people use Aloe vera as well.

 

It is said they like cold water to bath in but I also think this is a prefernce as well, both of ours like it luke warm for bathing.

 

I take both of ours into the shower with me, they sit up the top so the mist rises up to them. I have never had any problems with shampoo etc and if I touch them I just make sure to wash my hand so it has no soap or shampoo on it.
