Meat

Do you Greys require meat and if so how often and what kind? I have also seen people give their birds dog food, treats and bones. Are those things okay for them to have as treats? I give my dogs marrow soup bones sometimes and they love them would these be okay for the bird? Thank you in advance.

Harvey likes nothing better than a good old chew on a chicken bone (ensuring the chicken is cooked of course). Don't ever offer your grey (or any animal for that matter) raw or uncooked meat.

 

He also likes a bit of the chicken now and then - but doesn't get meat every day - perhaps once a week.

I've given alfie chicken before and she likes it, but didn't know it was ok to give her bones! Do you mean like a leg bone Jill?

Oh Lyn - they LOVE the bones - cracking into them, eating the marrow - as adjudged by Harvey's face in this photo from a posting I made earlier in the year:

all meates are good for greys. fried,raw,baked.,souped. watever. just give them some. theys like it.

They do love bits of meat.Never give raw meat.Charlie loves chicken,he also loves fish.

I would never advocate giving greys raw meat, any kind of raw meat Jamal, I am surprised your birds are healthy if you feed raw meat.:sick: :pinch:
