Joolesgreyuk Posted November 24, 2009 Share Posted November 24, 2009 {Feel-good-0002006E} It is sooo funny listening to Beau say "dance Beau" in my accent - It's like listening to yourself on tape - cringe worthy but at the same time I'm proud that Beau's a janner. Priceless lol. {Feel-good-000200BB}

Post edited by: Joolesgreyuk, at: 2009/11/23 21:06 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

danmcq Posted November 24, 2009 Share Posted November 24, 2009 Well, being an american, I had to do a search on what a Janner is. I will not comment on it due to there being many definitions that pop-up. I didn't bother to look up what a geordie is due to fearing the same numerous results. :-) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Joolesgreyuk Posted November 24, 2009 Author Share Posted November 24, 2009 Ok Dan for your benefit: a janner = someone from Plymouth/surrounding areas/coastal UK a geordie = someone from Newcastle UK Sheila is a scouser = someone from Liverpool. When I say Beau is a janner I mean he talks with my accent. I'm one proud mum but I have to admit it sounds funny coming from a parrot lol. Luvparrots Posted November 24, 2009 Share Posted November 24, 2009 How about simple definitions: Janner is a British regional nickname associated with people from Plymouth or people who live in areas near the sea. Geordies are people who come from the northeast of England. Mystery solved!!!! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

danmcq Posted November 24, 2009 Share Posted November 24, 2009 Ok, thanks for the one explanation for each. :-) Seems it's rather like the cowboys, rednecks, hillbillies, okies, flatlanders etc. here in the USA. Obviously, the Janners are the superiors there. Not trying to start a spat or anything. :whistle: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
