Myy Grey and Food

Hi there my Grey Jack is 11 months old. My wife and I have had him for 2 months now and he seems as if he is adjusting well to us. The only hick up that we have run into thus far is while we are eating.

I read that it is good to include your parrot in meal time which all three of us enjoy, but the problem lies in that Jack likes to get right up in my face while I eat. I really dont mind but it seems that he is trying to eat what is in my mouth and when I dont oblige he gets a bit angry. Luckily he has not bit me over it yet. What could this be and is there a way to stop it so that we can continue to enjoy meal time with our newest friend.

;) I have to say that I don't include Harvey in my mealtimes, he is disruptive - so he goes in his cage when we are seated, having a meal (tries to pull glasses over etc).

If I'm having a snack though, Harvey's the same - will try and get as close as he can to see what I have - I just move him.

If you do want to share your mealtimes why don't you just keep putting him back on his playstand (which you could position near the table) or keep putting him back onto the table. Repetition is the key to learning!
