JillyBeanz Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 There is a secret Christmas message in the following letters. Can you find it? a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, t, u, v, w, x, y, z.
Joolesgreyuk Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Once you start this riddle lark you kinda get the hang of it lol
JillyBeanz Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 What goes round the world, but stays in a corner?
Luvparrots Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 stamp What can you hold without touching it?
Joolesgreyuk Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 I am 8 letter but only have one letter, what am I?
JillyBeanz Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Envelope I am what I am, but if you know what I am, I am not longer what I am. Guess, what am I?
JillyBeanz Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Well, that's not the answer - but it fits!!! I shall give you it and tell you that the original answer was a riddle!
Luvparrots Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 This old one runs forever, but never moves at all. He has not lungs nor throat, but still a mighty roaring call. What is it?
Luvparrots Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 You are just to smart Julie!!!! A farmer has to get a sack of corn, a chicken, and a fox across a river. The farmer is only able to bring one of the above items along with him at a time. The only problem is if he leaves the fox alone with the chicken, the fox will eat the chicken, and if he leaves the chicken along the corn sack, then the chicken will eat the corn sack. How does the farmer get all 3 items across safely?
Joolesgreyuk Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 He could take the corn first. then the fox and the chicken last.
Luvparrots Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 If he takes the corn first than he leaves the fox and chicken together. Good for the fox, bad for the chicken!
danmcq Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Stuff the fox in the corn bag...take it across...the go back and get the chicken.
Luvparrots Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 You can take only one across at a time Professor!!! Try again.
JillyBeanz Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Ha Ha - I'd pay to see you try and "stuff" a fox in a bag!!! Right - the pillow talk in my house is incredible! Credit has to go to my husband who worked this one out for me (at 22.45 last night, whilst reading the riddles on my phone!!) Firstly take the chicken across, return and take the bag of corn across - BUT - take the chicken back over the river and put it back down. Then pick the fox up and take it across the water (thus leaving the fox and the corn on one side). Return across the river, pick the chicken up and take that over - Job's a good 'un - all three (and the farmer) over the river unscathed!
Luvparrots Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Smart hubby Jill. You have a definite keeper!!!

Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2009/12/03 21:11
Joolesgreyuk Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Theres a land where theres mummies and daddies but no babies. Books but no libraries. Mirrors but no reflections. Kittens but no cats. Cattle but no cows. Lollipops but no candy and trees but no forests. Its the land of what?
Luvparrots Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 The land of double letters. You use a knife to slice my head and weep beside me when I am dead. What am I?
