particle77
Ok, just wondering if anyone elses grey does this. I was just sitting here and noted that Earl was making crunching noises with his head turn backward and stuffed under his wing right where his shoulder blade is. I was curious, and got up to make sure he wasn't damaging his feathers(had just finished reading a post about feather plucking...), and he looked up at me with nothing in his beak. Then he turned back and pulled a pellet out from his shoulder blade! Anyway its kind of cool that he has something like a pocket under his wing to store food in, but it surprised me. Do most greys stick things back there?

Post edited by: particle77, at: 2009/11/12 05:
jessdecutie18
Lol, that sounds funny Can't say I've ever heard of that before... maybe he wants to be a hamster? You should rename him Hamtaro...
JillyBeanz
No way! Ha Ha! Earl was using his "man bag". Perhaps he doesn't realise his crop will hold that food for later - and thinks that hiding it will stand him with more chance of a late night feed! Just check he's not getting those magpie tendencies - you may find some of your jewelery hidden under there one day!!!

danmcq
He must be one of those very rare Australian African Greys with a pouch. I have never heard of one doing this before. It is certainly unique and very entertaining. :-)
katana600
That is just too funny. It would be much easier to climb to the top of the cage with a stash under his wing than to go up and down for every bite. LOL. What a clever boy, good job Earl. Luvparrots
While imagining Earl doing this, the theme from the original Mission Impossible popped into my head and I just cracked up. Thanks for this great story. Earl has got to be one fun grey! Can't wait to hear more about him!!!
