jackyshay
I wanted to teach my parrot to talk. But, I am at work all day. Do you guys recommend any CD that I can play for him when i am not home
danmcq
CD's just don't work. The words just have no context or meaning to them. It is just background noise that is not important to your grey to communicate with it's flock, namely you. :-) Your Grey will pick up things from you as you use them in context when you are home off work hours and on weekends. she
I have never used cds. I dont believe they work. As Dan said it is far more interesting for them to learn words in context from you.Just label things, if you offer a grape say want a grape or nut or apple as you offer them.As you let them out the cage say want to come out, say bye bye as you go out and hello as you return. It is surprising how fast they learn.
Luvparrots
Ana Grey knows a lot of things I say although she isn't much of a talker. I agree with Dan, I don't like CDs learning from their parronts is the way to go.

Luvparrots
Thanks for re-activating this thread. An update on Ana Grey. She is now 18-months old and is talking a lot more. So don't give up hope! Talking will come if it is to be. Just be patient!
JillyBeanz
Well, Harvey is now 14 months and says nothing! He mumbles hello (but it's not too clear), but that's about it! I think I'm going to have the forum's only mute parrot!!! His mimickry is absolutely fantastic - picks up everything - just chooses not to talk
