SUDDEN PLUCKING ...

It might be. It also can be from some sudden dryness in that area, a bout of nervousness or a temporary hormonal change during this time. Lots of reasons why but the best thing to dois watch her and see if she continues. In the mean time, keep that area moist in case it has to do with dryness. Light misting is good.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the info. It got really hot last night, out of the blue, so that's probably it. I didn't think it was a breeder issue, as a brood patch is usually on the chest, not the neck. Anywho, she's none the wiser to be quite frank. She's not picking at it at all. However, I will continue to monitor her trays to see if feathers continue to drop. I really thought it was a temperament issue, but as I've posted previously, she's pretty easy going. She may be coming out of her shell though, who knows, the terrible twos could be right around the corner. Oi! Best brace myself eh. LOL!

Regards,

Mikio :)
