kisses0071
I have a question and wonder if there is any truth to this. I have read on different forums that you can tell a sex of a CAG by the shape of its lower beak.. U shape meaning male and V shape meaning female...is this true? jessdecutie18
I've never heard of such, and I doubt it is true. As far as I know, the only way to find out is by doing a DNA test.
Jane08
The only sure way to find out is DNA. There are theories out there and people say they can tell by the shape of the head the size of the beak, red feathers around the vent etc, but none of this is reliable. Luvparrots
If you want to know what sex your fid is, have it DNA tested. My grey's breeder told me my baby was a girl and I guessed the same. And she was but we were only sure after avianbiotech.com told us so. They will send you a free sample kit and for $24.99 they will e-mail the result and then send you a certificate. Well worth the money if you want to really know your fid's accurate sex.
Debandbella
There are lots of ways to check the sex visually, there is a link on another forum, i will see if i can find it, we all tested our birds on the "bot" test, a lot who were dna sexed matched up to the bot test but not all, dna is the only sure way if it matters what sex they are.
