Hey guys, yesterday Meiko's playstand arrived and thankfully it was in great condition despite being used. I got it off ebay for 85 euro, couriered from England to Ireland! Bargain! ;) I gave it a good scrubbing all over with Safe4Pets disinfectant and boiling water before letting him on it...but when he got on it, I couldn't get him to get off it! He loves it  I attatched some pics just to give a general idea of it, however the pics arent of great quality and the blinding light didn't help either. Anyway here they are

Meiko is a lucky boy!! What an absolute bargain!! He's a lovely lovely looking birdie - I love them - but they are FAR too big for me!

Have you tried using photobucket - much easier to use and there's an idiot's guide (not that I'm saying you're an idiot!!!) here that may help you post some more pictures of gorgeous Meiko!

I love Meikos new playsand all he needs now is a basket or bucket full of wood cookie untreated wood from the lumberyard and a few toys and he will be the happiest parrot Darius love his play stands he has three of them in different rooms and he has his hanging playground with a swing large link chain to climb from his atom to his swing or his boing or to his play stand or cage he has ropes and toys a couple of wicker baskets to hold his wood cookies he really gets his excersize thats for sure I haven't got a picture of it right now but I will take one for you later and post it. How is Meiko doing with his training is he getting better. you haven't posted much so I'm taking that as good news.

Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/10/13 22:55

Yep, I'm actually buying a couple of really cheap but BIG rope/wood chew toys I've seen online, my father knows the owner of a sawmill so I think getting untreated wood will be no problem! As far as his training is going it's been good so far, he's not biting anymore and nearly always stepping off my arm into his cage when I want to put him back in. He's quietened down a lot as well which is great!

I'am so glad he's doing so well its amazing what rotine and consistancy can do. I think they all try to push ttheir luck from tim to time. When Darius are playing and haveing lots of fun even he will push his luck a little when it come to going back to his play stand. He would much rather stay and play with me but like all of us we have allot of other things that we have to get done. I would love to be able to spend all day playing with Darius but its not possible so he has to understand that when I say play time is over thats all there is to it and he going back to his play stand weather he likes it or not. They are just like children in so many ways and if you let them get away with something once they think its going to happen all the time. consistancy is a big part of training.

He is gorgeous and that stand is a fabulous find. Your pictures are just fine, don't wait for a new camera, you are letting us see into your life with a big bird. What you describe as a blinding light looks to me like Meiko is "angelic". Thanks for the pictures.
