jackyshay
Hi everyone, I just bought a new africacn grey baby. Had him for about 2 months already. I am just a little concerned that I am not spending enough time with him. I work from 8-4 pm. Before I go to work I usually take him out of cage for 30 minutes. I let him have breakfast with my family, and cuddle and talk to him. Then he goes in cage till 5 pm. I always leave a radio on for him. Also, my wife doesnt leave for work until 10 and she usually talks to him. At 5 PM wghen I get home he comes out of cage for at least 3 hours. He eats dinner and sits on his playstand. I talk and play with him. Is this enough time with him. I just feel bad. Plus, I dont want him to start pluicking. He has plenty of toys when I am not home. Thanks Jackie Shay
Poppy
I work 10--00 till 2-00 daily So George is in cage from about 9-30 till 3-30 and he is ok with that .He is always out his cage when im around. He has plenty of things to do and like you i leave either the radio or the tv on for him .I think he will be ok and will adjust accordingly . judygram
That sounds kind of like my schedule, I work from 8 to 4 and I let my fids out when I get home from work and they stay out until they go to bed at around 9:30 and mine are ok with that. Of course on weekends they are out more, not all day for I find I can get more done in the morning if I leave them in their cage but once they come out then they stay out for the remainder of the day unless I go out. Luvparrots
As long as the time you spend with your grey is quality time that is what counts. And that certainly sounds like what you are doing Jackie. Good job!!
