jackyshay
I have a baby african grey around 4 months old. Hes such a mush and very friendly. The question I have is related to food. Currently in my cage I have 4 bowls. 1 bowl is filled with zupreen vegetable pellets and the other bowel is filled with zupreem fruity pellets. The 3rd bowl is for fruits and veggies and 4th bowl is water. My african grey really does not touch the pellets and only eats a few. Will he eventually eat the pellets. Outside the cage I feed him eveything. Bean cuisine , potatos and all soughts of healthy food. I noticed that if I give him seeds he loves them. But, I read its not healthy. Should I continue to leave the pellets in the cage. Or should I put seeds in cage also. I tried to mix them and he only picks out the seeds, So I stopped giving him the seeds. Help me. Im confused. What should I leave in cage.
judygram
Some greys donot care much for the pellets, you might have to try several different varieties and brands to see if he will eat one of them for they do provide good nutrition for them. Continue to offer them for some will not touch them for a while then try them and start eating them so be sure they are available at all times. Most greys will go for the seeds first but you should be offering vegetables, some fruits, grains, legumes, nuts with a few seeds. Why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us some more about you and Charlie.
Luvparrots
I leave pellets and water in my grey's cage at all time and offer vegetables and fruit (more vegetables than fruit) during the am and pm. I save the nuts and seeds for out of cage time and have foraging containers all over the house for my grey.
