JillyBeanz
I thought we'd try Harvey with some HUGE runner beans - to see if it would keep him quiet for a moment - oh it did - I strongly advise them and recommend them to everyone!!!

Post edited by: JillyBeanz, at: 2009/09/27 19:
she
I love the picture Jill. Harvey is tucking in to his runner bean. Bet he was quiet for a few seconds at least.
judygram
Boy that is some huge bean Jill but Harvey is having a good time with it, how long did it last him?
pearllyn
Harvey is soooo brave - Alfie would definitley be scared of that bean! Is it raw?
Raiderbabe
Maybe I am a dummy but I have never heard of a runner bean?? What is it and where do you get them??
judygram
They may be some type of pole bean that requires some support for the vines to grab hold of and run up the pole, hence they are called runner beans, a lot of them are flat podded beans and that is what the one that Harvey is holding looks like. JillyBeanz
Judy - it lasted about three minutes (which in peaceful parrot time I think you will agree was like a lifetime!!!) Lyn - it is raw - he prefers his veggies raw - he's not really into mush!! Nice description of the runner bean Judy - obviously I'm so NOT a gardener - so I'm glad you described it!! Helpfully there are about 10 in the packet (that will be 30 minutes peace!!!)
pearllyn
Thank you Jilly. Alfie still prefers her veggies mashed but I shall try her with one of those. Will let you now what she thinks! x
katana600
Wow, that is either one gigantic bean or a miniature CAG. And until you mentioned "packet" I thought Jill was some kind of master gardener with a magical green thumb.
