tompro019
As some of you may have read, approx 1 1/2 weeks ago I adopted Bailey a 9 yo Congo African grey. Her previous owner told me she talks, but I never heard her. Well after a week she talks to my female roomate ( the previous owner was female, and told me that Bailey liked females better.) well yesturday I was getting ready for work and I heard talking coming from the living room area which is where I keep Bailey. I walk in and she is looking at my dog saying " wanna play?". Then today she has said that and mumbled some other stuff. I guess she is finally getting used to me. judygram
Exactly, it usually takes a little time for a new to you grey to feel comfortable enough to talk, thats a good sign she is settling into her new home. I would imagine you will start hearing lots more words and phrases, a lot from her previous home and some new ones she picks up from yours, enjoy. Joolesgreyuk
That is wonderful news Tom. They say many things that it's near impossible to determine - especially previously owned birds.

tompro019
Yes it is. The previous owner said she only talks when she wants to. So maybe she will talk more.
