We have a new member on the forum called Weetie, she posted a question this morning, but unfortunately she did not stayed very long online to get answers for her problem. Here is her problem, maybe somebody can help:

Weetie : I would like to know if somebody out there can give me some advise on my bird. His wing was cliped and since then has biting it. The new feathers does not grow as he is biting it off all the time. Is there a reason why he does this?

Yes, probably. The clipped wings may have left some ragged feathers, which he has chewed so they don't annoy him. Now, when the new feathers come out they irritate him and he chews them, probably because that is what he is now used to doing. However, there is a product on the market that is sprayed on on fledging feathers to soften them, unfortunately I don't know what it's called, but I'm sure you'll find it if you google it. Weetie needs to get on top of this before it develops into a full-on plucking problem. I hope that helps.
