Update on DYH

Recommended Posts

I thought I would give you guys an update on my baby DYH. Tango is now 13 weeks old. I have dropped the morning feeding and the evening feeding is very small and I will soon be dropping that as he is eating like a pig and gaining weight. He literally eats every waking moment.

He and Whisper seem to be getting used to each other. I can have them about 18 inches apart without anyone getting upset. The one time I put them down together on a neutral spot, Tango went after Whisper aggressively and scared her. I backed off on putting them down together for now but I am going to try again this weekend.

Tango has been to the vet and pronounced healthy. He is so much more active than Whisper was when I first got her at 16 weeks. He climbs all over his cage, hangs upside down and swings from his toys. Whisper was a lot more cautious when she was young.

He absolutely loves toys. It is so much fun to give him something new and see him enjoy it. He is also bigger than Whisper but then she is a petite little girl and he is a big old boy. She weighs 388 and he weighs 406 but looks even bigger. I will try to post some pics this weekend.

Some of you might have noticed that I have not been posting as much recently. Handfeeding the baby and generally taking care of the 2 of them has really kept me busy. Birds on formula are very messy poopers! The clean up is non-stop.

I know what your going through with your baby and all the poop when Adaya was still on formula she would poop literally every 30 seconds. I could not believe how many times a day that girl could go.  Thank goodness she has slowed down. Changing cages 6 times a day and walking around with a roll of paper towels and a wet spounge constantly when she was up and out of her cage gets to be allot of work thank goodness it doesn't last forever. I couldn't believe the amount of news paper I was going through every week. While she was weaning & fledging I went through 16 jumbo rolls of paper towels:blink:
