Myfidzmomi
Welcome to the flock I am also new here and to the world of African Greys. It is great that you adopted an older grey. That was my original plan but after looking for awhile I got too impatient and got a baby. I look forward to getting to know you and Bailey. Luvparrots
Hi Tom, I salute you for adopting an older grey. Just be patient when Bailey gets comfortable in her new home she will open up and probably talk your ear off. Can't wait to hear more about her. Welcome to the grey family. tompro019
Yes I was lucky Bailey and her cage fell in front of me. I am glad I got her, she is pretty, and loves to eat from my hand, she will not step up yet, but It will take time. I bet you will have a lot of fun with your new baby. pearllyn
Hi Tom, Congratulations on getting your grey, and Karma to you for rescuing an older bird. I've had my grey now for 16 months and had originally intended to rescue one too, but after reading how complicated greys can be, decided that I wasn't experienced enough to take on an older bird who may come with "problems". I've since found out that it's easy enough to make new problems, so no need to have worried on that score!! The folks on here tho have been terrific and have always been ready with advise when I need it. I wish you and Bailey many happy years together. tompro019
Well, no bad habits that I am aware of, jus had plucked some feathers a few weeks before I got her, but we think it was from boredom or loneliness as her previous owner had moved 4 times in the last few months, and been working many hours. But now she doesn't seem to be plucking anymore, and is in a home that will giver her plenty of attention.
