savagem
Just a question that came up because I've been thinking of adding another grey. Can a male and a female coexist peacefully in the same household? I have two females, and was considering adding another because I adore them so much. But I wondered if I'd need to make sure any new bird I adopted was female? Would a male stir up all kinds of hormones in the girls and make things miserable for everyone? The LAST thing I want is to breed. Did that once with cockatiels and it was heartbreaking and I was a wreck the whole time. Does anyone here have males and females living together that are not breeders?
lovethatgrey
I would think that you need to be ready for the possibility that male parrot may bond in that way with one of your females but perhaps they may hate each other. It's a risk that you take and the way I see it.... you need to be prepared for the worst possible outcome but hope for the best.
